Domain Name and Web Site Sales and Stories

Dirty Pain Dot Com

This is how it starts: I wake up in the morning, pull up CNN online and scan the pages for any one- to two-word headlines that might make for a good domain name. On 27 January I found it - “Dirty Pain” - or the painful thoughts about reality. This story came from Oprah Winfrey’s site, where readers are told to learn how to distinguish “clean” pain (the actual painful act) from “dirty” pain (ruminating about that act).

Since that story broke on CNN, a rash of blogs have created entries about dirty pain. But, how far can this go? Just how deep could a person take a site that’s focused on “Dirty Pain“? I don’t know. I just know that when that story broke on CNN, there was one link to the topic. Now, links fill a full page - just one week later. And, Google returns 1,290,000 results for both words.

If Dirty Pain doesn’t take off as a psychological term, I’m sure that some dog somewhere can use the term for another purpose. These two words together have all sorts of connotations, no?

Either way, the domain name is for sale at Sedo.
